Although still an introductory class, we recommend that students attend twice a week to better prepare for advancement. Here, students explore a wider range of age-appropriate ballet fundamentals. They refine turnout, positioning, coordination, and spatial awareness. Through collaborative learning, students reinforce ballet etiquette and begin basic strength and flexibility training.
Students attend two classes weekly at this level. They focus on learning traditional barre exercises with precision and age-appropriate techniques. These foundational exercises smoothly transition into center floor work, connecting barre techniques with center movements. Under teacher guidance, students refine technique, musicality, and collaboration skills, while also emphasizing ballet etiquette and incorporating conditioning exercises for overall strength and flexibility.
At this level, students also attend two classes per week, although we recommend three classes per week. Prior completion of Grade II or a placement evaluation is required, along with a basic understanding of ballet technique and terminology. The curriculum focuses on refining positions and introducing more complex barre combinations. Center work mirrors barre techniques, while across-the-floor sequences become more challenging, emphasizing jumps with increased height and precision.
